B.Sc. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, prospective M.Sc. in Computational Biomedical Engineering at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Current ICEX Vives Fellow at Light Bridges – Florida Space Institute collaboration

Originally from Barcelona, Lucía Matamoros graduated with a B.Sc. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2021, sparking her passion for neuroscience device development during her thesis on intracortical graphene devices at Centro Nacional de Microelectrónica. An exchange program at University of Technology Sydney, deepened her knowledge in data analytics, after which she gained valuable experience in data strategy at SEAT SA and Accenture. Finally, thanks to the ICEX Vives fellowship, she pursued research on data analysis for astrophysics at the Florida Space Institute with Light Bridges. Now, she will be taking a M.Sc. in Computational Biomedical Engineering at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she aims to develop devices for cognitive health, potentially advancing biomedical technology for space applications. She is beyond excited to embark on the Hypatia II journey with enthusiasm and determination.
