Back-up Crew Engineer

Helena Arias Casals is a mechanical engineering, electronic engineering and physics student at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Universidad Nacional de Estudios a Distancia (UNED). She has participated in various research programs for students such as Joves i Ciència (Youth and Science ) from Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, or the International Science Summer Institute (ISSI) from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. She is currently collaborating with the Department of Physics at the UPC doing research on PT symmetry in acoustic resonators, and she is developing her start-up Light Pills. She is part of the board of the Space Program of the UPC and participates in the organization of the Exporecerca Jove of MAGMA, Association to Promote Young Research. She combines her studies with her sporting career in Olympic shooting.
